The mattress has been introduced to avoid the soft sides of most pressure reducing mattresses and the risk of falling. The lying width is still sufficient and when a patient rolls, they will detect the edge of the bed without and restraint. This Optimise Firm Edge Mattress will help users to get out of bed, independently, easily and safely. Without having the 'sinking' feeling you may have when sat on the edge of other foam or air mattresses. The firm edge supports the user whilst they swing their legs in or out of bed.The firm edge on this mattress helps to provide a reliable and comfortable transfer from bed to wheelchair without the mattress dipping or sinking during transition. Some users may find that when transferring from bed to wheelchair, or vice versa, difficult. As the mattress can sometimes have a tendency to sink when sat on the edge. This then usually means the user has to then use their own upper body strength to pull themselves onto their chair. If the user is less mobile or has weakened upper body strength, this can then lead to falls or injury.Using a Optimise Firm Edge Mattress encourages independence and security for the user. And peace of mind for the users relatives and loved ones.Mattress Size: 198 x 910 x 15cm.Supplied complete with a waterproof vapour permeable blue cover. Please Note - These mattresses are made in the UK and made to order - please allow 8-10 days for delivery from date of ordering.View our full range of Pressure Care Products.£226.25with VAT relief£271.50incl. If you have a disability or mobility difficulties, there are many useful bedroom aids to help you get a great night’s sleep.Bed Guard rail bumpers are ideal if you use Profiling beds, which are specially designed to change positions so patients can choose how they like to comfortably lie-down. These types of beds also help to significantly reduce pressure sores. Although profiling beds offer many benefits, they often have full-length wooden bars with gaps in between that can potentially become a hazard. Especially if there is a foot pedal to raise and lower the bed. A patient’s limb could become trapped in the rail, or they may hurt themselves on the hard surface. To protect patients against injury or entrapment, bed guard rail bumpers for adults are an ideal solution. These three-rail bed guard bumpers consist of two bed bar bumpers with an extension for the third bar to fit each rail neatly. The top and bottom pads are connected by a strong see-through net that folds in on itself to save space when the sides are lowered. Please allow 8-10 days for delivery.
